My trip to Stanford

"Paulina do you want to come to your cousin's graduation?" my grandmother asked.
"Yes!" I replied. Two years ago, two weeks before finals my grandmother was inviting me to come to my cousin's graduation in California. I agreed because I wanted to go to California and because I wanted to visit Stanford University, where my cousin was graduating from.

I had to take my last two final exams two days earlier because I was taking a flight and I was not going to be in Torreón.After taking my final exams I checked that everything was in my suitcase and then took the flight. When I got to Los Angeles I went to the house of my Aunt since she told us we could stay at her house while we were visiting.

The first day we just stayed with my Aunt and my Uncle and we went to have some dinner. I was very excited but at the same time tired since I had stayed very late studying for my last final exams. The second day we started heading to Stanford University. I don't really remember how far it is from LA to Stanford but I just remember it was a long road trip, specially because of my cousin's grandmother and my grandmother's sister that came with us in the car. They were really nice but they wanted to go to the bathroom like every half an hour so we had to stop a lot and that made the road trip seem eternal. The good thing was that during the road trip my cousin's grandmother told me all of her stories when she was young and she bought me chocolates and candy whenever they stopped for the bathroom. She always called me Paola or Paula or names that are alike. At first I kept telling her that my name was Paulina but then she forgot every time so I gave up and let her call me Paula or Paola.

When we got to Stanford it was amazing and beautiful. On the graduation day Bill Gates came and gave the speech, I found him very inspiring.
Traveling there inspired me to work hard to go to a good university, probably not to Stanford but to a good one.
